music video 2017

I am an animation specialist, artist, musician and designer from New Zealand, currently in Bangkok, Thailand.

In the mid-200’s I was tutoring a BFA Viscom program and animation courses at Unitec in Auckland, working in long-form narrative animation for TV (Weta Productions), and had begun collaborating with Jill Kennedy and the late Mark Braunias making animated digital work for exhibit in art galleries around the world.

In 2006 I went to Singapore to begin a string of contracts around South Asia supervising and directing CGI animated TV shows for major international producers (Nelvana, Canada) and received a 2015 Canadian Screen Awards nomination for Best Direction. I also led an I.P. development team at Lemon Sky Studios in Kuala Lumpur.

In 2018 I returned to New Zealand and completed my first novel, The Golden Sword - A Secret History of Thomas Stamford Raffles. I was UI/UX and content designer for Lexo Lab during this period, a web-based language learning app aimed at school children in Asia. I am currently working on a collection of short stories based on life experiences in central Auckland in the late 80’s/early 90’s titled Swansong Street.

I have been writing about New Zealand music for the Audioculture website since 2015, and among others have profiled Brett Adams, Erny Belle, Bressa Creeting Cake, written an extensive feature on the Coromandel collective Aerial Railway, and an in depth story on Stuart Page.
